Turbulence Intensity Modulation by Micropolar Fluids

چکیده
Fluid microstructure nature has a direct effect on turbulence enhancement or attenuation. Certain classes of fluids, such as polymers, tend to reduce intensity, while others, like dense suspensions, present the opposite results. In this article, we take into consideration micropolar class fluids and investigate intensity modulation for three different Reynolds numbers, well volume fractions density, in turbulent channel flow. Our findings support that, low fractions, presents monotonic number increases. However, other hand, sufficiently high drops, along with increment. This result is considered be due force term flow, suppressing near-wall enforcing activity move further away from wall. first time that an observation made fluid flows, can assist our understanding physical phenomena more general non-Newtonian flow regime.

To overcome this difficulty a penalization argument is needed. This argument generalizes the penalization method given in 10 , for the Navier-Stokes equations, to this case of micropolar fluids. In fact, if we take...

New fundamental solutions for micropolar fluids are derived in explicit form for twoand threedimensional steady unbounded Stokes and Oseen flows due to a point force and a point couple, including the two-dimensional micropolar Stokeslet, the twoand three-dimensional micropolar Stokes couplet, the three-dimensional micropolar Oseenlet, and the three-dimensional micropolar Oseen couplet. These fu...
متن کاملAnalysis of Pseudo-Turbulence Flow Induced by Bubble Periodic Formation in Non-Newtonian Fluids
Laser Doppler Velocimetry (LDV) has been employed to determine pseudo-turbulence characteristics of the flow field around bubble train forming in non-Newtonian caboxymethylcellulose (CMC) aqueous solution at low gas flow rate condition. The Reynolds stress and turbulent intensity of the liquid were investigated by means of Reynolds time-averaged method. The experimental results show that ax...
متن کاملTurbulence in Fluids
The seminar gives an introduction to turbulent motions of incompressible fluids. Due to the nature of the subject, most of the explanations are qualitative, although references to the actual fundamental equations underlying the processes are also made. Special emphasis is made on the dynamics of vorticity in turbulent flows and the main results of the celebrated Kolmogorov 1941 theory.
متن کاملThermosolutal Convection of Micropolar Rotating Fluids Saturating a Porous Medium
Double-diffusive convection in a micropolar fluid layer heated and soluted from below in the presence of uniform rotation saturating a porous medium is theoretically investigated. An exact solution is obtained for a flat fluid layer contained between two free boundaries. To study the onset of convection, a linear stability analysis theory and normal mode analysis method have been used. For the ...
